Biomechanics Aches Pains Lower Legs Feet Treatments

Biomechanics is concerned with the preservation and restoration of foot function and its associated structures. A biomechanical assessment involves a series of tests and exercises for a comprehensive evaluation of the overall body posture, and the structural bone alignment of the lower limb and feet. Muscle strength, imbalance and the flexibility are also evaluated. Particular focus on the hip, knee, ankle and foot during the analysis of gait (walking pattern) is essential. It may be necessary to wear shorts for this assessment to be carried out.

Many biomechanical problems are treated with orthotics. If it is found that your condition is caused by a mechanical imbalance a Podiatrist may recommend orthotics tailored to your feet to help improve the structure and function. We sell a range of orthotics from insoles to over-the-counter devices, up to prescribed bespoke insoles. Following a consultation we can recommend the most appropriate orthotic for you.

3D Scanning

Using our 3D foot scanner we can capture accurate measurements of your feet. Extremely precise 3D scanning devices can measure thousands of different points along contours of the foot.

Much like plaster casting a 3D representation of the foot is captured which is then used for diagnosis and treatment.
